Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, that is intended to stop the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message can be sent from one e-mail address, but to appear as being sent from another one, ordinarily with the idea to scam the recipient in some way. If SPF protection is enabled for a domain name, a specific record is made for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers worldwide receive it. The record features all the e-mail servers that are allowed to send valid messages from an email address under the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and when the sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the targeted receiver. In case, however, the sending server is not contained in the SPF record for the given domain, the e-mail message won't be forwarded and it'll be discarded. When you employ this solution, it'll stop third parties from sending spam which look as if they have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Cloud Web Hosting

When you host your domains in a cloud web hosting account on our end and we manage the e-mails for them, you will be able to enable SPF protection for any of them with several clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. The service is available in its own section where you'll be able to view which domains are already secured. For those that aren't, you'll be able to enable the SPF protection option and set up a variety of things during this process - the hostnames of the mail servers that are permitted to send messages from your e-mail addresses, the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of these servers, as well as to create a rule that emails can be sent only if your domains have our MX records. The last mentioned option is the most secure one, but it can be used if we manage the e-mail addresses for your domain names and you're not using another email supplier. The newly created records will be activated within 24 hours and nobody will be able to forge the FROM field in an email with your e-mail addresses.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The SPF protection attribute comes with all the semi-dedicated plans, so when you host your domain names in an account on our cloud website hosting platform, you are able to activate this service easily for all of your domains. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a really easy to use interface, therefore you don't have to be proficient in the use of computers to protected your e-mail addresses. You'll simply have to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you'd like to be authorized to send out emails from your addresses and shortly after that the new record will be active for the domain name that you've chosen. As an additional option, we also give you the ability to limit your outgoing emails and secure your mailboxes even better by allowing messages to be sent only if the domain in question includes our MX records i.e. the email messages for the domain name have to be handled on our end and not by another provider. Thus you'll enjoy even better control and there will not be a chance for anybody to forge your e-mails for malicious objectives.
